कोरोना वायरस के नए वैरिएंट ओमिक्रॉन ने पूरे दुनिया में हड़कंप मचा दी है. इस वायरस की संक्रामकता और फैलने की रफ्तार को लेकर लगातार डराने वाले दावे किए जा रहे हैं. भारत में भी इसने दस्तक दे दी है, जहां पांच राज्य इसके अलर्ट पर हैं. आजतक ने मेदांता के चेयरमैन डॉक्टर नरेश त्रेहान से खास बातचीत में वायरस को लेकर कई महत्वपूर्ण जानकारियां लीं. डॉक्टर नरेश त्रेहान ने कहा कि ओमिक्रॉन का ट्रांसमिशन रेट पिछले सभी वैरिएंट से बहुत ज्यादा है. यानी ये वैरिएंट ज्यादा तेजी से इंसान को संक्रमित कर सकता है. अनुमानों के मुताबिक, नए ओमिक्रॉन वैरिएंट का ट्रांसमिशन रेट 12 से 18 के बीच है. ओमिक्रॉन के इंफेक्शन का खतरा शरीर की क्षमता पर निर्भर करता है. यानी एक स्वस्थ फेफड़े, मजबूत मासपेशी और पूरी तरह से स्वस्थ इंसान पर इसका प्रभाव कम दिखाई देगा. दूसरा, कमजोर इम्यूनिटी, डायबिटीज, हार्ट डिसीज, कैंसर या आर्थराइटिस जैसी बीमारियों के शिकार लोगों को इससे ज्यादा खतरा है. बुजुर्गों की इम्यूनिटी भी धीरे-धीरे कम हो जाती है, इसलिए उन्हें भी संभलकर रहने की सलाह दी जाती है. ज्यादा जानकारी के लिए देखिए ये वीडियो.
