'सलाम क्रिकेट 2018' में 11 स्टार क्रिकेटर्स एक मंच पर जमा हुए, तो पुराने किस्सों का जिक्र छिड़ना ही था. इस दौरान गावस्कर ने खुलासा किया कि उन्हें 'सनी भाई' का नाम किसने दिया. गावस्कर ने बताया कि सबसे पहले मोहम्मद अजहरुद्दीन ने उन्हें ड्रेसिंग रूम में  'सनी भाई' कहकर बुलाया था.
