देश के मैदानी इलाकों में भी अचानक से तापमान घटा है और इसकी वजह है पहाड़ी राज्यों में बर्फबारी हो रही है. जम्मू कश्मीर, उत्तराखंड और हिमाचल प्रदेश में जबरदस्त बर्फबारी हो रही है. हाल फिलहाल में कश्मीर में बाकी दोनों राज्यों के मुकाबले ज्यादा बर्फबारी हुई है. कश्मीर में ज्यादतर इलाकों में तापमान शून्य से नीचे है. सड़कों पर कई-कई फुट बर्फ जमी हुई है. मैदानी इलाकों में हर तरफ बर्फ की चादर बिछ गई है, यहां तक की डल झील भी जम गई है. ये बर्फबारी कुछ लोगों के लिए मौज मस्ती का विषय है तो कुछ लोगों के दुश्वारियां लेकर आया है, देखें ये वीडियो.

The regional meteorological center has issued a heavy snowfall alert in the hilly regions. A yellow alert has also been issued with the prediction of moderate-to-heavy snowfall.
