आज ही वो तारीख है जिस दिन ब्रिटिश आर्मी से हमारी सेना पूरी तरह अलग हुई थी. 73 साल हो गए उस दिन को यानी आज हमारी सेना का 73वां स्थापना दिवस है. सेना इस दिन को पूरे जोश के साथ मनाती है. सैन्य दिवस पर परेड का आयोजन होता है और हथियारों का शक्ति-प्रदर्शन होता है. इस मौके पर आर्मी चीफ ने शहीदों को श्रद्धांजलि दी और चीन और पाकिस्तान को दो टूक जवाब दिया.
