हाथरस गैंगरेप और हत्याकांड मामले पर सीबीआई ने 2000 पेज की चार्जशीट फाइल की है. हाथरस कांड की पीड़िता 14 सितंबर को अपने गांव के ही खेत में गंभीर हालत में मिली थी. मामला सामने आने के बाद अफसरों ने मामला दबाने की कोशिश की थी. इस दौरान यूपी पुलिस ने पोस्टमार्टम रिपोर्ट के आधार पर दावा किया था कि पीड़िता के साथ गैंग रेप नहीं हुआ था. यूपी पुलिस के इस बयान के बाद कोर्ट ने यूपी पुलिस को फटकार भी लगाई थी. देखें रिपोर्ट.
