छत्तीसगढ़ के बीजापुर में नक्सली मुठभेड़ में 5 जवान शहीद हो गए हैं जिनमें से केवल 2 के ही शव बरामद हुए हैं, 3 जवानों के शवों की तलाश अब भी जारी है. इसके अलावा 21 जवान लापता हैं जिनकी तलाश हेलीकाप्टर से की जा रही है. सुरक्षाबलों और नक्सलियों के बीच हुई मुठभेड़ में 24 जवान घायल हुए हैं जिन्हें बीजापुर अस्पताल लाया गया है. नक्सलियों के खिलाफ ये बड़ा ऑपरेशन अब भी जारी है.
