विश्व प्रर्यावरण दिवस पर प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने अपने संबोधन में कहा- 7-8 साल पहले इथेनॉल की चर्चा कम होती थी. लेकिन अब इथेनॉल 21वीं सदी की प्राथमिकताओं से जुड़ गया है. साथ ही उन्होंने कहा कि वाहन ईधन में 2025 तक इथेनॉल का मिश्रण बढ़ जाएगा तो इससे गन्ना किसानों को काफी फायदा मिलेगा. साथ ही उन्होंने कहा कि तेल कंपनियां गन्ना किसानों से इथेनॉल के लिए सीधे गन्ना किसानों को संपर्क करेंगी. सरकार इसपर काम कर रहा है. देखें वीडियो.
