निवर्तमान राष्ट्रपति रामनाथ कोविंद का कार्यकाल आज पूरा हो रहा है, शनिवार को उन्हें संसद के सेंट्रल हॉल में विदाई दी गई जिसमें प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी भी मौजूद रहे. इस दौरान रामनाथ कोविंद ने कहा कि मैंने पूरी क्षमता के साथ कर्तव्यों को निभाया है. इसके अलावा उन्होंने सभी राजनीतिक पार्टियों को नसीहत भी दी और कहा कि पॉलिटिकल पार्टियों को दलगत राजनीति से ऊपर उठना चाहिए और जनता की भलाई के लिए काम करना चाहिए. आज यानि रविवार को राष्ट्रपति रामनाथ कोविंद ने देश को अपना विदाई भाषण दिया. अपने संबोधन में उन्होंने कहा कि 'मैं सभी देशवासियों का आभार व्यक्त करता हूं. मैं अपने कार्यकाल के दौरान कई प्रतिभावान लोगों से मिला. मैं अति साधारण परिवार में पला-बढ़ा हूं. मेरा बचरपन कच्चे घर में बीता है, मैं देश के लिए कुछ करना चाहता था. भारत का लोकतंत्र सभी को मौका देता है. हम आजादी का अमृत महोत्सव मना रहे हैं. बतौर राष्ट्रपति गांव, विद्यालय जाना मुझे याद रहेगा.' इस वीडियो में देखें राष्ट्रपति का पूरा भाषण.
