आज यानि 26 जुलाई को देश में कई अहम बातें दर्ज है. आज करगिल विजय दिवस है. 1999 में आज ही के दिन भारत और पाकिस्तान के बीच करगिल युद्ध में भारत ने विजय पाई थी. ये युद्ध 3 मई 1999 की घुसपैठ से लेकर 26 जुलाई 1999 को भारत के विजय दिवस तक करीब 84 दिन चला था. पाकिस्तानी सेना और घुसपैठियों को करगिल से खदेड़ते हुए भारतीय सेना ने इसमें जीत हासिल की थी. इसे Operation विजय कहा जाता है. करगिल युद्ध में भारत के 527 जवान शहीद हुए थे. वहीं, 2005 में आज मुंबई की रिकॉर्डतोड़ बारिश इतिहास में दर्ज हो गई थी. सिर्फ 24 घंटे में 994 मिलिमीटर बारिश होने की वजह से मुंबई का हाल बेहाल हो गया था. आमतौर पर पूरे मॉनसून में चार महीने में जितनी बारिश होती थी. उससे भी ज़्यादा बारिश सिर्फ 24 घंटों में हो गई थी. अचानक पूरे क्षेत्र में बाढ़ की वजह से लाखों लोग प्रभावित हुए थे और मुंबई सहित महाराष्ट्र के कई हिस्सों में कुल मिलाकर 1000 से ज़्यादा लोगों की मौत हुई थी. विस्तार से जानें आज का इतिहास.
