ऐसा माना जा रहा है कि कांग्रेस के अध्यक्ष पद के चुनाव में मल्लिकार्जुन खड़गे की जीत बस औपचारिकता मात्र है. अगर खड़गे अध्यक्ष बनते हैं तो 51 साल बाद ऐसा होगा कि कोई दलित नेता कांग्रेस का अध्यक्ष बनेगा. इससे पहले बाबू जगजीवन राम कांग्रेस के अध्यक्ष बने थे. कांग्रेस के अध्यक्ष पद के चुनाव 17 अक्टूबर को होंगे. 19 अक्टूबर को इसके नतीजे घोषित किये जाएंगे.
