एचसी अवस्थी के रिटायर होने के बाद 1987 बैच के आईपीएस अधिकारी मुकुल गोयल को उत्तर प्रदेश का नया पुलिस महानिदेशक (डीजीपी) नियुक्त किया गया. मुकुल गोयल मूल रूप से शामली जिले के रहने वाले हैं. The Uttar Pradesh government recently named Mukul Goel, a 1987-batch IPS officer as the new Director-General of Police. He replaced Hitesh Chandra Awasthi who retired from service on June 30.
