ज्यादातर देशों ने तालिबान को मान्यता देने से इनकार कर दिया है लेकिन दो महाशक्तियों के ऐसे बयान सामने आए है जो तालिबान से हमदर्दी का इशारा करते हैं. अफगानिस्तान में रूसी राजदूत दिमित्री जिरनोव ने कहा है कि काबुल में तालिबान के कब्जे के चौबीस घंटे में जो स्थिति दिखी है उसमें काबुल पिछली सरकारों की तुलना में ज्यादा सुरक्षित दिखा है. उधर, चीनी विदेश मंत्रालय ने भी बयान जारी कर कहा है कि चीन स्वतंत्र रूप से किस्मत तय करने के लिए अफगानिस्तान के लोगों के अधिकार कासम्मान करता है और अफगानिस्तान के साथ मैत्रीपूर्ण और सहयोगात्मक संबंधित विकसित करना चारी रखना चाहता है. देखें वीडियो.
Most countries have refused to recognize the Taliban's take over of Afghanistan. But Russia and China gave statements in support of the Taliban. Russian Ambassador to Afghanistan Dmitry Zirnov said that Kabul has appeared safer than previous governments in the last 24 hours.
