CWC की बैठक में सोनिया गांधी ने अंतरिम अध्यक्ष का पद छोड़ने की पेशकश की है. सोनिया ने कहा कि पार्टी अपना नया अध्यक्ष चुने. हालांकि पार्टी के वरिष्ठ नेताओं ने उनसे अध्यक्ष पद पर बने रहने की अपील की है. मनमोहन सिंह ने सोनिया से पद पर बने रहने की अपील की.
