आईएएएफ ने 2014 में अपनी हाइपरएंड्रोगेनिजम नीति के तहत दुती को निलंबित कर दिया था, जिस वजह से उन्हें उस साल के राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों के भारतीय दल से बाहर कर दिया गया था. उन्होंने खेल पंचाट में यह मामला उठाया और आखिर में उनके पक्ष में फैसला आया. दुती ने कहा, ‘2014 मेरे लिए बहुत बुरा साल था. लोग मेरे बारे में तरह-तरह की बातें करते थे. लोग कहने लगे थे दुती चंद लड़की नहीं है. और अब उसी लड़की ने वापसी की और देश के लिए पदक जीतने में सफल रही. यह मेरे लिए बड़ी सफलता है.’
