ऑनलाइन ठगी के लिए नए-नए तरीके अपनाए जाने लगे हैं. अब स्कैमर्स ने गूगल की मैप सेवा का गलत फायदा उठाना शुरू कर दिया है. गूगल मैप्स सेवा के जरिए लोगों को ट्रैस करके नए तरीके से स्कैम किया जा रहा है. हाल ही में एक ठग ने गूगल मैप्स पर ईपीएफओ के कॉन्टैक्ट नंबर बदल दिए और फिर लोगों को चूना लगा दिया. दरअसल गूगल मैप्स पर मनचाही जगहों की कॉन्टैक्ट डीटेल्स मिल जाती हैं. कंपनियां मैप्स पर अपनी डीटेल्स और फोन नंबर लिस्ट रखती हैं ताकि यूजर्स मैप्स पर सर्च करके उन तक पहुंच सके या दिए गए नंबर पर कॉल करके मनचाही जानकारी ले सके. मैप्स पर ही कॉन्टैक्ट डीटेल्स को एडिट भी किया जा सकता है.
