On 21 January, a parliamentary panel on information technology questioned WhatsApp representatives on its recently proposed changes in the privacy policy. Earlier this month, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology asked WhatsApp to withdraw its privacy policy. It said the new terms and conditions take away choice from Indian users.
