अतीक अहमद और अशरफ की हत्या में शामिल आरोपी सनी सिंह का पश्चिम उत्तर प्रदेश के गैंगस्टर सुंदर भाटी से कनेक्शन रहा है. हमीरपुर जेल में बंद रहने के दौरान सनी सिंह सुंदर भाटी का करीबी हो गया था. इसके बाद जेल से छूटते ही सनी सुंदर भाटी के लिए काम करने लगा.
