जानिए Cloth Idioms के बारे में

अंग्रेजी में कई ऐसे मुहावरे होते हैं जिनमें कपड़ों का इस्‍तेमाल किया जाता है. ऐसे मुहावरों को Cloth Idioms कहते हैं. जानिए ऐसे ही 5 Cloth Idioms और उनके वाक्‍य प्रयोग के बारे  में:

1. To put on your thinking cap
इसका मतलब है किसी समस्‍या के समाधान के लिए गंभीरता से सोचना शुरू करो.
उदाहरण: "The economy is in a mess, it's time for everyone to put their thinking caps on."

2. Hot under the collar
इसका मतलब है बहुत गुस्‍से में होना.
उदाहरण: "She got very hot under the collar when I told her someone had scratched her car."

3. Off-the-cuff.
इसका मतलब है बिना किसी तैयारी के होना.
उदाहरण: "He made a stupid off-the-cuff remark."

4. Mutton dressed as lamb.
इसका मतलब है उम्र से कम दिखने के लिए तैयार होना.
उदाहरण: "In her mini skirt and short tank top, she looked like mutton dressed as lamb."

5. Dressed to kill.
इसका मतलब है शानदार दिखना.
उदाहरण: "She had bought a new outfit and was dressed to kill."
