आज दुनिया के 8 से ज्यादा देशों के राष्ट्र प्रमुख भारतीय मूल के हैं. जिनमें ब्रिटेन के अलावा, Mauritius, सिंगापुर, Seychelles, Guyana (गुयाना) और Suriname (सूरीनाम) के राष्ट्रपति का नाम भी इसमें शामिल है. इसके अलावा Portugal के मौजूदा प्रधानमंत्री भी भारत से ही हैं. आज पूरी दुनिया में भारतीय मूल के लोगों की आबादी तीन करोड़ से ज्यादा है.
