आजाद भारत के इतिहास में नेता तो बहुत हुए जिनमें से कईयों को जननेता भी कहा गया लेकिन नेताजी की उपाधि प्राप्त करने का सम्मान सिर्फ सुभाष चंद्र बोस को हासिल है. 'तुम मुझे खून दो, मैं तुम्हें आजादी दूंगा' नेताजी सुभाष बोस ने ये नारा दिया था और देशवासियों से आजाद हिंदुस्तान का वादा किया था. बोस ने इस वादे को निभाया. शायद यही वजह थी कि आजादी की लड़ाई में सुभाष चंद्र जैसा नेता कोई दूसरा नहीं हुआ.
