The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday cancelled the party ticket of Arun Singh, nominated as party's candidate for zila panchayat chief, following a complaint against him. On Thursday, the Unnao rape victim in Uttar Pradesh wrote to President Ram Nath Kovind, PM Narendra Modi, and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, demanding the BJP to change its candidate for the post of the zila panchayat chairman as, she said, he is "very close" to jailed former MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar.
