जम्मू कश्मीर में पंचायत चुनाव न हों, इसके लिए आतंकवादियों ने मोर्चा खोल रखा है. चौबीस घंटे में कम से कम तीन पंचायत घरों को आतंकियों ने आग लगी दी है. इसके अलावा बार बार उनकी तरफ से धमकियां दी जा रही हैं कि कोई भी राजनीतिक पार्टी पंचायत चुनाव में हिस्सा न लें.  बहुत दिन नहीं हुए जम्मू कश्मीर में बीजेपी-पीडीपी की सरकार ने हथियार डाल दिए थे, और वहां राष्ट्रपति शासन लगा हुआ है. इस दौरान, सेना के ऑपरेशन्स में एक के बाद एक आतंकी मारे जा रहे हैं. और पंचायत चुनाव में लोगों की हिस्सेदारी, आतंकवादियों के मुंह पर करारे तमाचे की तरह पड़ती.
