बेशक मोदी ने पूर्वांचल का दौरा किया, लेकिन मंच से सहयोगी अपना दल और ओमप्रकाश राजभर की पार्टी ने दूरी बनाकर रखी. 2019 के लिए दोनों दलों ने सीट बंटवारे को लेकर बीजेपी पर दबाव बनाना शुरु कर दिया है. गाजीपुर में प्रधानमंत्री की जनसभा हुई. वाराणसी में मोदी ने कई कार्यक्रमों का शिलान्यास किया, लेकिन किसी भी मंच पर अपना दल और सुहेलदेव भारतीय समाज पार्टी का कोई नेता नजर नहीं आया. ये दोनों दल 2014 लोकसभा चुनाव में पूर्वान्चल में NDA का हिस्सा थे, लेकिन अब नाराजगी का आलम ऐसा कि प्रधानमंत्री के साथ मंच तक साझा नहीं किया.
