28 जुलाई, 2021 की सुबह रोजाना की तरह जज उत्तम आनंद मॉर्निंग वॉक के लिए निकले थे. छह महीने पहले ही बोकारो से उनका ट्रांसफर धनाबाद हुआ था. सुबह करीब 5 बजकर 8 मिनट पर वो रणधीर वर्मा चौक की तरफ़ से हीरापुर सब स्टेशन की तरफ बढ़ रहे थे और ठीक उसी वक्त एक हादसा हुआ. उनको एक टेम्पो टक्कर मारने के बाद भाग चुका था. बाद में कुछ राहगिरों की नज़र पड़ी, फिर उन्हें शहीद निर्मल महतो मेडिकल कॉलेज एंड हॉस्पीटल ले जाया गया लेकिन अस्पताल में कुछ देर बाद ही उनकी मौत हो गई थी. मौत की वजह सर में गंभीर चोट थी. एक जज से ऑटो ड्राइवरों की कैसी दुश्मनी? शम्स ताहिर खान के साथ देखिए वारदात में कत्ल की पूरी कहानी. 

Dhanbad Judge Death Case: At around 5 in the morning, the judge was moving towards the Hirapur sub-station from Randhir Verma Chowk, and at the same time an accident happened. He was hit by a tempo. Later some passersby were noticed, then he was taken to Shaheed Nirmal Mahato Medical College and Hospital but he died shortly after in the hospital. The cause of death was a serious head injury.
