The Uttar Pradesh Police has taken the custody of don Mukhtar Ansari. This comes days after the Supreme Court directed the Punjab government to hand over the custody of the don to the UP police. A 150-member team of the Uttar Pradesh Police is bringing gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari to Banda jail. Ansari's wife said that she fears for his life in Uttar Pradesh. She has urged the top court to pass necessary directions for her husband's security during the transportation and also when he is produced before the courts for hearing.
